SUMMARY: SERVICE DISPATCHER (12PM-9PM)

The Service Dispatcher will perform dispatching and administrative duties to receive, screen, record, prioritize, assign, and close customer requests for service support.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SERVICE DISPATCHER (12PM-9PM)

  • Answer inbound calls from customers and service technicians in a professional manner;
  • Competently dispatch calls and assign service requests to appropriate technicians;
  • Create service tickets;
  • Review customer/account history;
  • Make outbound calls to schedule service appointments;
  • Close service tickets to prepare for billing;
  • Process parts order requests with purchasing department;
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Minimum two years customer service and/or service dispatch experience (in a professional business setting).

SKILLS 

  • Microsoft Office proficient (especially Excel).
  • Critical and logical thinking required: the ideal candidate will learn the Interface processes and systems and possess the ability to work independently and successfully to resolve day-to-day issues.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize.
  • Ability to maintain a sense of urgency and follow tasks through to completion.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit in an office environment.  The employee is frequently required to talk or hear to interact with employees/customers.  The employee is frequently required to use the telephone.  The employee will frequently use a personal computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand, crouch, kneel, climb or crawl to maintain files. The employee must frequently lift objects up to 10 pounds that could include company materials, files, and small equipment.  Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus in order to view reports, computer screen, forms and operating manuals.
