Position Summary:

Interface Security Systems is seeking an experienced Security Analyst to join the Managed Network Engineering team. The Security Analyst will be responsible for maintaining operational security.  This includes adherence to compliance standards and oversight of day-to-day operations. 


  • Perform root cause analysis on vulnerabilities discovered in our products and environment;
  • Deploy and maintain automated scanning of various ISS properties, including validating findings and driving remediation;
  • Maintain knowledge of security and privacy laws, industry best practices, changes in technology, and advised on the impact for ISS;
  • Collaborate on solutions to mitigate risks and enhance system security.
  • Assist in security process improvement initiatives;
  • Assist external auditors, regulatory auditors and other 3rd parties as needed;
  • Assist in company-wide security initiatives;
  • Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of new and emerging security products and technologies;
  • Participate in security compliance efforts (e.g., PCI-DSS);
  • Participate in security incident handling;
  • Monitors firewall and system security logs to identify potential threats and attacks.

Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
  • Knowledge of industry standard security regulations, policies, and procedures for information systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Aptitude to quickly learn new environments and technologies.
  • Ability to earn the trust and respect of colleagues both in and outside of the Information Security team.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and teamwork skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking capabilities, especially under pressure
  • Proven ability to maintain a high level of discretion and personal integrity in the exercise of duties, including the ability to professionally address confidential matters
  • Knowledge/awareness of penetration testing techniques are desirable
  • Security+ certification
  • Linux+ certification desirable

  • Operating Systems (Windows, Linux)
  • OSSEC or variants
  • Monit
  • Nexpose
  • Metasploit
  • Splunk/Syslog
  • Firewalls
  • Strong TCP/IP networking background
  • Proficient in at least 3 of the following:
    • Ansible
    • OSQuery
    • Bash Scripting
    • Python
    • Git


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (other work experience considered based on relevance).
