The Network Manager is responsible for leading a team of network engineers and system administrators that operate and maintain the managed network environment.

The leader of this team will provide technical, functional and project management support for the MNE Network team, with overall responsibility for the performance and availability of the Secure Managed Broadband network systems consisting of routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.  The incumbent manages, schedules and directs the activities of a team of network specialists to monitor, diagnose, and resolve networking and server problems in a timely and accurate fashion.  This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the United States.  

Network Manager Essential Functions:

  • Design and implement short and long-term strategic plans to make certain that network and server capacity meets existing and future requirements.
  • Develop maintenance and refresh schedules for network and systems equipment.
  • Ensure that infrastructure (networks, data centers, servers, and storage) incidents and problems are resolved in a timely and effective manner, and reduced by analyzing root causes, minimizing disruption to business operations and adhering to SLAs on availability and resolution response times.
  • Approve and administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Oversee change management.
  • Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the data residing on or transmitted to/from/through enterprise workstations, servers and other systems and in databases and other data repositories.
  • Track and communicate operational metrics (including trending over time) and identify process and service improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible to effectively delegate tasks and projects to members of the network engineering team.
  • Interact with customers (both internal and external) to understand and resolve any requests or issues that would be supported by the network engineering team.

Job Requirements

Network Manager Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, and VPN.  
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language.
  • Thorough knowledge of personal computer, network and security architecture, software, and hardware.
  • Capacity to work well independently.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.
